Bad policy for everyone   To the editor:    About four weeks ago at a fitness chain in Fairbanks, Alaska, of all places, a transgender man entered the women’s bathroom/shower room.

If not a chicken in every pot, how about some humor?

   Wouldn’t it be nice to enjoy a little humor in the current presidential campaigns? Nothing is funny about what’s going on.    Despite what you thought of John Kennedy, his politics or his extra-presidential activities, you have to admit he had a keen sense of humor.

And the children shall lead ...

   For examples of resilience and character, sometimes we need to look to the young people to show us the way.    This has been collectively one of the most – if not the most – successful sports spring in the history of Habersham County.

Can electric cars be made better?   To the editor:    Yes, in my opinion we can make them self-charging. My idea for this was in The Northeast Georgian Dec. 12, 2023. I have been trying to sell my idea to several electric car makers without any success.

   At some point in his life, every man who has fished more than a few times has considered himself a great fisherman. He’s got pictures of himself holding up a stringer full of fish. Or of his six-year-old self holding an eight-pound catfish.

Voting is your civic duty.    You’ve heard that before, right? It is worth mentioning once again.    It is hard to believe election season is upon us this soon, but before the calendar even turns to May, some folks will cast their votes for our local candidate races as early voting begins Monday.

Are we better off? To the editor:    Donald J. Trump just asked a while ago, “Are you better off now than you were 4 years ago?”  The answer is yes. Four years ago, people were losing jobs, kids were staying home from schools, Because of COVID, the dead were being put in freezer trucks.
