Open to new ideas for traffic solutions

   Traffic is getting wilder every day in Habersham County, and it is not just on Highway 365.    That highway is one of the most dangerous in this region, but surface streets are getting busier with the continued growth of Habersham County and the increase of drivers on the road.

We have become a greedy world To the editor:    Again the Bible gives us a warning about greed but again the world is not listening. The world we live in is turned into greed full time.

My watch called me fat

   I have toted a cell phone around for the last 23 years or so, as most of us have now. I have had every manner of phone from one that only made phone calls (novel concept) to ones that can order pizza, do your taxes and probably listen to everything we are saying and doing.

Be as open as possible

   Many times at a public meeting, taxpayers can get confused about what constitutes an executive session, meaning the members of a given board can speak in a closed meeting.

Best we can do   To the editor:    I’m always pleased when you print Dick Yarbrough’s articles as you did on Jan. 19. I too think voters should decide elections instead of Democrat loyalists trying to do so through court actions.

Seeking transparency, re: COVID

   Recently, I was leading a small group discussion at church, and we were reminiscing about past activities we enjoyed. One of these was Foyer groups – small, casual meetings over dinner at our homes.    I asked the group, “Those were really nice; anyone know why we stopped doing them?

THUMBS UP to Habersham Central’s basketball programs, which are having success this season.    The Raider boys knocked off Shiloh on Tuesday night, a previously undefeated team in the region that beat them on their floor earlier this season.

The storm after the calm

   There is nothing like a steady rain to help you get a good night’s sleep. And there is nothing like being jarred awake by your wife in a mild panic. I’m not exactly sure what Heather first said to me Thursday morning about 5:40ish, but I could tell by her tone we had an issue.

Cold often bothers me anyway

   The worst moment of my 36-hour air travel adventure over the weekend came when I turned my cellular devices back on after a couple hours of airplane mode.
