Raiders on track for solid season

As the Habersham Central Track and Field program gets set to host the annual Battle of the Blue Ridge event in Mt. Airy Friday, the Raiders are already well on their way to accomplishing some of their collective season goals.

Clarkesville 5K race to benefit lifelong runner

Special Olympics will be 'awesome' event

The 2025 rendition of Habersham County’s Special Olympics is set for Friday, April 4. The event, which is held at Habersham Central High School’s Raider Stadium in Mt. Airy, represents the HCSO organization’s biggest event of the calendar year.

Pickett preps for pro day

As many folks around Northeast Georgia are well aware, Joshua Pickett is one heck of an athlete.  The Demorest native and Habersham Central High School alum dabbled in various sports growing up before eventually finding his calling on the gridiron.

New-look Raider golf team hits the links

A new era for the Habersham Central boys golf team began earlier this month. The 2025 Raiders tee’d it up for the first time week before last, and for the first time in a long time, one of its best (if not the best) players in program history was notably absent.

Raiders’ run comes to close in Elite 8

A season that will no doubt go down in the annals of Habersham Central High School athletics came to an end Wednesday in Mt. Airy. The Raiders boys basketball team fell 92-74 to a powerful Tri-Cities (Buena Vista) club in the GHSA 5A Elite Eight.

Raiders cruise into GHSA Elite 8

The Habersham Central boys basketball team pulled off another wire-to-wire playoff win at home over the weekend, downing Brunswick 72-60 in the GHSA Sweet 16. With the victory, the Raiders (27-3) advance to the Elite 8 where they will take on Tri-Counties (Buena Vista) Wednesday.
