To put it bluntly, baseball can be a weird sport. Not only is it a game chock full of nuance, but momentum can flip on a dime. The Tallulah Falls baseball program knows that better than anybody.

Raiders' Frady inks with TMU

There’s been a lot on Spencer Frady’s mind lately. The longtime starting catcher and de facto captain for the Habersham Central baseball team recently made his return to the diamond after missing most of the year with a broken hand. The timing couldn’t be more perfect for HCHS.

Lady Raiders reach Elite 8

Another week brought another set of home playoff games for the Habersham Central soccer teams. This time came an opportunity to ascend to new heights. Tuesday evening, the Lady Raiders had to fight back from a slow start.

Diamond Raiders punch ticket to Elite 8

With its series-clinching win at South Paulding High School Wednesday, the Habersham Central baseball team punched its ticket to a destination the program has never seen in its history - the GHSA Elite Eight.

Foster 'sticking to his story'

Iconic voice lands Phillips in ROH

A trailblazing radio personality, Ken Phillips’ voice helped usher in a new Habersham County sports landscape. Now, after years of being in the running, WCON’s longtime “Voice of the Raiders” has been inducted into the Habersham Central Football Ring of Honor as a member of the Class of 2025.

Title journey continues for Raider soccer teams

The top-seeded Lady Raiders soccer team advanced to the GHSA Sweet 16 after blasting Lee County 10-0 in Mt. Airy Tuesday evening. The Habersham girls will host Kennesaw Mountain next Monday.   The Raider boys took down Coffee County 5-1 Wednesday.

Two-way star Mayfield is latest ROH inductee

Throughout its history, Habersham Central football has been built on good, old-fashioned hard work. The program runs rife with individuals who embody what it means to put their own wants and desires below the needs of the team. Over the years, many talented individuals have graced the turf in Mt.
The 1973 Habersham Central football team, including no. 67 Stanley Hinson, went on a tear to place the program on the map under coach Fred McManus. The success of that team also helped usher in a new era for the program, which had just been established a few years prior after North and South Hab consolidated. FILE

Hinson joins ROH '25 class

The year was 1973 and Habersham Central - at least as it’s known today - was in its football infancy. Led by Head Coach Fred McManus, the Raiders struggled to find their footing through those first few seasons and were 7-23 all-time entering the fall of ‘73.
