The Indians' current slide reached 3 in a 10-6 loss at East Jackson on Thursday, as TFS was unable to overcome a huge early deficit. East Jackson took a 1-0 lead in the first off starting pitcher Drew Bates, who wound up suffering the loss.

Raiders star Malachi Dooley commits to Toccoa Falls

If you want to keep seeing more of the electrifying slam dunks that Malachi Dooley entertained Raider basketball fans with throughout the season next year, you won’t have to travel very far to do it. He announced earlier this week that he will play for Toccoa Falls College next season.

Kelsey Banks to continue basketball career at Piedmont

Habersham Central’s Kelsey Banks will be taking her talents a few minutes down the road next season. The sharpshooting guard announced that she will continue her basketball career at the next level at Piedmont University.

Lady Indians’ historic season ends with Elite 8 loss

The deepest run into the state playoffs in the history of Tallulah Falls School ended Tuesday night with the girls basketball team’s 55-43 loss to Galloway in the Elite 8 round. The Lady Indians came out firing on all cylinders, scoring with consistency throughout the first half.

Shiloh visits Raiders’ pitch for big matches Friday

Habersham Central’s soccer teams have a big date Friday night when Shiloh comes to town. The Raider boys (2-5-1, 1-3 Region 8-6A) will be looking for a way to get back on the winning track after a 2-0 loss to Buford on Friday night.

Mawdesley resigns after first year coaching Habersham Central boys basketball team

The Habersham Central boys basketball team is once again back on the search for a head coach less than a year removed from their last head coaching vacancy. Coach Aric Mawdesley informed The Northeast Georgian last week that he had resigned from the position.

Tallulah Falls' girls soccer team rebounded after a pair of losses, grabbing a 6-2 home win over Stephens County on Feb. 24. With a 4-2 lead at the half, the girls were able to add another couple tallies in the second half to secure the victory.

Freshman wrestlers shine

The Raiders Wrestling Academy took six athletes to the Freshman state tournament for Georgia USA Wrestling. Justin Whitney (second from left) placed second in his weight class after four tough bouts.
