The inaugural 1992 Habersham Central Raiders soccer program will be honored next weekend, 30 years after they made their debut. Members of the ‘92 team were KK. Chanseri, Litt Ratanaxay, Vilaysouk Oudomsouk, Eric Armstrong, Britt Singer, Khong Rattanaxay, Steve Sessa, Jeff Burrell, Ben Bolton, Jeff Dowis, Phontany Rattanaxay, Luciano Passoni, Matt Ward, Alex Depraz, Khamsay Chanseri, Tim Lawrence, Oulan Boumna and Jeremy Miller. Their managers were Ben Price, Dawn Crane.

Inaugural 1992 team to be honored at alumni weekend

It was just 30 years ago that the first Habersham Central soccer team stepped onto the pitch. The soccer program is as alive as ever today, and next weekend they will honor the group of players that started it all.

Raider golf finishes fourth in Mill Creek Invitational

Out of 16 teams participating in the Mill Creek Invitational, the Habersham Central boys golf team finished the event tied for fourth place. The strong finish comes after a couple tough outings last week at the Big Red Shootout in Gainesville and in their match against Rabun County.

Raider baseball drops double-header games against Elbert County

Despite strong starts from starting pitchers Hunter Tatum and Mason Dawe, the Raiders lost both games of Monday’s double-header against Elbert County, falling 6-2 in game one and then by a 12-4 score in game two. “Elbert County is a really good team.

Indians score in double figures, win fourth straight

The Tallulah Falls Indians won a fourth straight game, tying a program record, with a 12-5 win at Rabun County on Thursday evening. The 10-plus run output is the sixth time TFS has scored in double figures. A 7-run fifth inning helped lift the Indians to the win.

Lady Raiders’ win total hits double digits

The Central Gwinnett girls soccer team were outclassed last Thursday when they traveled to Habersham Central High School to face the Lady Raiders soccer team, who shut out their region rivals in a 5-0 win.

Lynes nets four goals as Indians rout Riverside

Sean Lynes Jr. was at it again with yet another 4-goal game to lead the Indians to a Wednesday win at home over Riverside Military Academy by a 6-2 final. The Indians were up 5-0 at the break, with the outcome barely in question.

Raiders look to sweep rival in double header

The Habersham Central baseball team completed their sweep of region rival Central Gwinnett Thursday night with lopsided wins in both games of their double header. They won the first game by a 10-0 score, and kept the offense firing on all cylinders during game two with a 12-0 win.

Freshman phenom Sungur works toward ultimate goal as Olympic hopeful

Like a fish in water, freshman Emre Sungur is a natural fit in the pool. Hailing from Istanbul, Turkey, Sungur found his way to Tallulah Falls School. He’s made an immediate impact on campus, and has had great success early and often as part of the state-qualifying swim team.
