Dogg gone familiar scenario

Habersham volleyball splits Tuesday night region matches

In two region matchups Tuesday night, Sept. 22, the Lady Raiders split games against two teams on opposite ends of the Region 8-6A standings. Facing the 33-6 Dacula Falcons in the first match, Habersham Central lost in straight sets, losing both sets by a score of 25-17.

Lady Raiders’ bats erupt

The Habersham Central softball team won three out of their four games played over the weekend in a tournament in Morgan County thanks largely to an offensive eruption in all three games won. The Lady Raiders scored a total of 28 runs in those three games.

Lady Raiders take 2 of 3

On a three-match day on Sept. 16, the Lady Raiders volleyball team went 2-1 thanks to impressive, back-to-back straight set wins over Rabun County and Banks County in the last two matches. In a closely contested opening match, they lost 2-1 against Cherokee Bluff.

Raiders prepare for ‘old school’ rival Stephens County

One would think losing 23 of the last 24 matchups with Stephens County would discourage the boys from Habersham Central, but the Raiders are relishing the opportunity to knock off the undefeated Indians on Friday night.

Wade gets D-I offer from Delaware State

Habersham Central star athlete Taylor Wade has lived and breathed softball for as long as she can remember. She fell in love with the sport in elementary school, and now in her senior year, she starts every game behind the plate and at the top of the Lady Raiders’ batting order.
