After rain subsides, softball team heads off to playoffs

The rain finally held off enough for the Habersham Central Lady Raiders to finish their 2021 regular season with last Saturday’s double header against the region rival Dacula Falcons, which had been delayed multiple times throughout the season.

Lady Raiders cap season with senior night sweep

The Lady Raiders volleyball team capped off their impressive 2021 regular season run with three consecutive straight set wins last Thursday night in the final three games before the region playoffs. The wins bring their record to 23-13, with a 4-2 record in region play.

Dacula rallies past Raiders in 2nd half

Habersham Central does not want to hear about moral victories, but the Raiders’ game against Dacula was not a total loss. The Falcons came to Raider Stadium and were dominated for the first 22 minutes of the game before rallying in the third quarter to get past Habersham 35-17 in regional play.

Raiders face challenge head on

Braydon Wright broke the base of his thumb in practice early this season and was expected to be out five weeks. But Habersham Central’s middle linebacker was not going to wait that long. Wright got himself back early with help from a well-wrapped cast and played against Buford last Friday night.

Tallulah Falls volleyball upsets Prince Avenue in Pink Out Night win

The Tallulah Falls volleyball team upset the 26-7 Prince Avenue Christian Wolverines Thursday, Sept. 30 in a closely contested 2-1 set win. The win vaulted them to second in the Region 8-A private standings with a 2-1 region record, and a 18-8 record overall. “That was a very good win.

Habersham Central 2, Tallulah Falls 1 The Lady Raiders defeated the Tallulah Falls volleyball team 2-1 Tuesday night. In the first set, Habersham Central won a close 25-22 contest, but the Lady Indians responded with a strong 25-13 win to even it up in the second set.

Raiders struggle to launch against Winder

Habersham Central did not have its best stuff Friday night, falling 45-14 to Winder-Barrow on homecoming night. The Bulldoggs used a big-play attack and timely red-zone defense to knock off the Raiders in the regional opener for both teams.
