   With Labor Day now behind us, do you know what is on the horizon in Habersham County? That’s right, it’s time for the 49th annual Chattahoochee Mountain Fair. The fair is scheduled to kick off Friday Sept. 6 and run through Sept. 14.

There’s another way to spell ‘eutopia’

   Is it eutopia or utopia?    I’m no scholar. But in Greek, “utopia” translates to “no place,” which can only be found in books. I’m not talking about that one.    My topic is on “eutopia,” a “good place” where happiness flows and everything is almost perfect.    Impossible?

   You only go through your first pandemic once. And keeping a community press rolling through to the other side was one daunting task. As we were all thrust into a lockdown, the valve on the spigot of normal everyday life was abruptly slammed shut.

Migrant children at border unaccounted for To the editor:    Of the millions of migrants illegally crossing the border, some 360,000 are unaccompanied minors. According to ICE, tens of thousands of the minors are unaccounted for.

   When I was a little guy, I would lie on my back in the yard and look up at the clouds or the trees, searching for an answer to the question of the day. God, do you want me to start raising worms now so that when I open my bait shop, I’ll be ready?

The fight against fentanyl is a true community effort

   One is too many.    That’s the sentiment repeated multiple times in our front page article last week titled “Overdoses down in fight against fentanyl.”    Agent Trent Hillsman of the Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office said just that.    Then Sheriff Joey Terrell did as well.
