A preventable maternal death To the editor:    Nearly 50 percent of all pregnancies in the United States are unplanned. Of these, many are also unwanted, as was the case for Amber Nicole Thurman.

Hellish hurricanes help put things into perspective

   Albert Einstein theorized that things (such as time, space, mass and motion) are relative. To me, that suggests putting things into perspective.    In a seven-day span, my personal perspective couldn’t have been more powerful if a jackhammer had been pounding inside my brain.

A little motivation

   There are good days, and there are bad days.    The good days are more often, and sometimes do have bad moments, but it seems like the bad days are hitting much harder now.

Be sure to vote To the editor:    As I listen to the nightly news, it is becoming clear to me that we are being gradually led to slaughter by the Biden administration, and with no apology. It is astonishing to me that President Biden could place so many regulations on us without even one excuse.

Meeting Mordecai Wilson

   Mordecai Wilson was relaxing in his recliner when we arrived at his home in Lula, a town of about 3,000 in northeast Georgia.    I had never met the man, although I’d read several of his letters in a newspaper, words encouraging people to follow God and do the right thing.

Can’t stand four more years To the editor:    For the past about four years America has been going down because of poor leadership in government. Terrible mandates and policies have practically crippled our economy and placed us in very vulnerable position world wide.
