God be with the Middle East To the editor:    Once again, we address the issue of Middle East ownership. That being said, let’s look at the recent history of this area. After World War I, land owned by the Ottoman Empire was disbursed to those countries who were involved in winning WWI.

Clarity in the great outdoors

I was not raised in an outdoorsy sort of family. My outdoors growing up was the beach or a tennis or basketball court. I knew nothing of so many of the great activities that are second nature to young people growing up in Northeast Georgia. Fishing? Nope.

The only path to success is together

Perhaps only those who have been active members of a team will understand this story.    I remember quite a number of years ago the best football team in our region, one that had grand historical proclivities and a future showing no signs of abating, came to its quick demise.

Deion Sanders could sell milk to a cow

If there’s ever been a human marketing machine, Deion Sanders is one.    I believe Neon Deion, aka Coach Prime, could sell milk to a cow and hard-boiled eggs to a chicken.
