Going with the flow

At dinner with some family friends, the conversation turned to the current state of affairs in college football. It’s been a hot topic lately. Locally, for sure, but also nationwide. Those sitting across the table had a very dim outlook on the direction the collegiate game seems to be headed.

Community comes together

In the trying times we live in, it is important to lean on what matters most. That’s faith, family and community. Last weekend was one of the best of the summer in Habersham County for community engagement.

Life beyond the Showcase Showdown

Maybe after 20 years, it’s time I told this story one last time. Maybe it will help me let go of it and not be bitter about it. Maybe it’s stupid to drag such a ridiculous grudge into middle age. I’ll let you decide. Growing up, I loved game shows.

Care for loved ones this summer

Summer comes with plenty of reasons to smile and enjoy the beautiful weather, but it sure has been hot lately, when surprise thunderstorms are not sneaking up on us. That said, one thing that does not make anyone smile is seeing a child or pet left in a burning hot car in a parking lot.

Protect your kids on the internet

Kids have a lot of time on their hands during the summer, and in our modern times, many of them spend a good deal of time looking at a phone. Previous generations did not have a magic piece of glass in their pockets that could connect them to the world, making the job of parents much tougher.
