Letters to the Editor

Slow spending, development To the editor: I am thankful that our County opens up public forums and discussion for all the latest issues, but they shouldn’t see any kind of lack of attendance by the public as the go-ahead to do what they want anyway.

This has to be more than talk

The conversation about Highway 365 has to continue beyond the residual effects of the tragedy of 10 days ago. When the road first came through the county, the population and traffic levels were dramatically different. As those factors have grown exponentially, the dangers have grown as well.

Mini golf brings large fun, bonding moments

I get on my kids for playing too many video games during the summer and not getting out to do more, but I figure the cause is somewhat lost with the two teenagers. As for Ollie, I feel there is still hope that he can enjoy outside activities, and we have been playing a lot of mini golf this summer.

At dinner with some family friends, the conversation turned to the current state of affairs in college football. It’s been a hot topic lately. Locally, for sure, but also nationwide. Those sitting across the table had a very dim outlook on the direction the collegiate game seems to be headed.

A good feeling about sports here

Didn’t summer just start? I guess it’s only been about two months since the last day of school –  not much time in the grand scheme of things – but it feels more like two days ago. One blink of an eye and the end of the road is in sight.

Care for loved ones this summer

Summer comes with plenty of reasons to smile and enjoy the beautiful weather, but it sure has been hot lately, when surprise thunderstorms are not sneaking up on us. That said, one thing that does not make anyone smile is seeing a child or pet left in a burning hot car in a parking lot.
