We have turned the corner and begun the 80th year since our brave American soldiers stormed the beaches at Normandy, France, on D-Day, June 6, 1944.

Seeing my son smile beats virtual football player’s happiness

I laugh at my kids all the time, deriding how dumb some of their video games are. Sure, they still play Legend of Zelda – or at least modern derivations of it – but they are always trying to catch Pokemon, or nab some dude in Fortnite, or whatever and none of it matters to me at all.

Problems with policy

To the editor: Here we are in June, and my paperwork from 2022 is still waiting to be filed. Just too busy with “this/that.” And the problem with “this/that” is it sometimes gets you blacklisted by an organization you felt was your friend and protector.

With the promise and possibilities of growth coming to Habersham County, there are often differing opinions among officials and residents about what form growth will take.

America needs a new draft

Tom Brokaw’s book “The Greatest Generation” should be required reading for every high school student in America. If you don’t know which generation is the “greatest,” I concur with the famed broadcaster who gave his answer.
