Watch out for our kids

Habersham County Schools returned to session today, and Tallulah Falls School will return Monday. Our kids will be back on buses and the hustle and bustle of the daily school routine will be upon us once more.

I miss biscuits

To the editor: I lived in Habersham on and off from 1993 until 2015, and I just want to say now that I’ve moved away to Florida, I really miss the area restaurants that serve homemade biscuits.

Prank calls have gone away

To the editor: I don’t know the last time I received a prank call. It’s sad really. Growing up in Northeast Georgia sometimes requires kids to manufacture some good times. When I grew up in Demorest, prank calls were a part of that fun.

You say tomato, and so do I

Today I’m talking about homegrown tomatoes. We do love them and avail ourselves to them whenever possible, which just happens to be pert-near every day from the day we get the first one.

Leadership prevails

What a difference 24 hours can make. Tuesday night’s meeting between Habersham County and Tallulah Falls was emotional and packed with hurt feelings. But it was not just over Roads & Bridges SPLOST or radios.
