Lady Raiders spike Lakeview in 3

Habersham Central’s volleyball team won its opening match Tuesday night, beating Lakeview in straight sets, 25-17, 25-19, 25-7. But Lady Raiders coach Lindsey Herrin said her girls still have work to put in.

Softball rallies late, but drops first game to Franklin County

The Habersham Central varsity softball team opened up its season Tuesday night with a 6-3 home loss to a tough Franklin County team. “I’m happy defensively, I thought we played very well [in that area],” Lady Raiders coach Karlyn Thompson said.

TFS starts out with two wins

The quest for a third straight Sweet 16 has begun for the Lady Indians, who opened the season with a pair of wins over visiting Monroe Area and Stephens County on Tuesday evening. In the opening win over Monroe Area (25-12, 25-15), the Lady Indians raced out to a 9-1 lead.

Lady Raider volleyball opens at home

   Habersham Central's volleyball team improved to 3-0 with sweeps over Seckinger (25-14, 25-9) and Banks County (25-16, 25-17) on Thursday night.    The Lady Raider softball team got its first win of the year with a 5-3 decision at White County.

On back-to-back plays Friday night, the Raiders fumbled their opening drive away and saw their head coach run over by an opposing player.

Battle of the Heroes

The 9th Battle of the Heroes, a fundraiser for the Easton Foundation, was held Saturday night at Raider Stadium. Hall County first responders defeated the combined forces of Habersham/Banks counties 29-18 thanks to a strong first half.

Young softball team ready to compete

Karly Thompson feels she is in the right place at the right time to lead the Lady Raider softball program. Thompson takes over for Bill Bradley, who stepped aside to focus on basketball. She played at Fannin County and recently coached at Washington County.

Lady Indians look to build on Sweet 16 runs

The 2022 version of the Tallulah Falls volleyball team has a high ceiling that coach Matt Heyl will look for the Lady Indians to reach. The varsity program lost quite a few seniors off last year’s Sweet 16 team, though return a dominant Sarah Jennings to lead the charge in her senior year.
