Believe in Christ, not Santa

To the editor: The fact that Santa is not real is obvious. Santa could not deliver to every house in one night. Why then do we do this? Because it’s fun. Christmas is not about fun, but about the birth of Christ Jesus, not fun. If Christmas is not about fun, and Santa is not real, then why do it?

Hospital has been mismanaged

To the editor: As a former resident and the spouse of a physician that had a twenty plus year relationship with the medical center I am both disappointed but not surprised by the news that HMC needs another lifeline.

Mountain Ed in danger

To the editor: We all know the squeaky wheel gets the grease. Currently, the 18 campuses of Mountain Ed schools need some squeaky wheels. Due to HB 153, on June 30, 2023, Mountain Ed will lose chartered school status.

Rabun does recycling well

To the editor: Last week, I read a letter to the newspaper by Valerie Dye and I must say I absolutely agree with her. She was responding to an article about recycling in Habersham County. The article seemed to blame the residents of Habersham County for the poor turnout in recycling.

The gift of grace is free

A simple phone call after a baseball practice is how it began. Then it evolved into the boys calling their great grandparents after each practice. MaMa and PaPa loved to hear about each practice, ask questions about their day and at times tell stories about their childhood during the 1930s.

Embracing the college life
