Stay true to values

To the editor: Does my opinion matter? I hope it does, so hear me out. I grew up in the 50s, came to the U.S. in 1961 when I was 18. I have seen a lot of changes in our life since then. But I have never experienced what is now occurring.

Keep fitness center open

To the editor: I have lived in Clarkesville now for over 25 years, and my husband and I have been going to Total Fitness since I retired about four years ago.

Devoted to our youth

Young people need structure, guidance and a sense of belonging in order to grow up as successful contributors to society. Many times in our community, it is our youth coaches, pastors and other volunteer leaders who help shape our youth outside the classroom and home environments.

Trying to find perspective with LVII reasons to be upset

Well, let’s get this out of the way. Everyone is wondering how I am doing after the unpleasantness we call the Super Bowl. I am not going to talk about the way the game ended or anything from the game for that matter, but I came away very disappointed because I wanted this one for my dad.

Keep fitness center open

To the editor: Not having ever written a letter to the editor during my 94 years in Clarkesville, I believe now this is the time.

Fitness center vital to seniors

To the editor: Since 1996, Habersham Medical Center has operated Total Fitness, first at Piedmont University and the Ruby Fulbright Aquatic Center. We value physical fitness and believe our participation at Total Fitness since 2006, has contributed to our overall wellness as we age.

We still need fitness center

To the editor: Those of us who attend Total Fitness at the Aquatic Center were devastated to hear that “our” exercise place was being closed.

Where exactly is ‘my place?’

To the editor: A young innocent black man  was murdered by the police this last week. The event was horrendous and completely unjustified. The police personnel responsible were fired, charged and await trail on second degree murder charges.

No one wanted to help

To the editor: Mayor John Borrow, I am appalled at the most disappointing lack of support in a real time of need for my wife who is a Nationally Certified Emergency Registered Nurse. My wife is currently working under contract at the women’s prison in Alto.

DA’s office recused itself

To the editor: In Mr. Locke Arnold’s letter published in the Feb. 3, 2023, edition of the paper he expressed his dissatisfaction with the outcome of the Magistrate Gerald Johnson matter. It appears he mistakenly believed that my office was involved with this matter. It was not.
