Sports bring community together

The heart of every community is its schools, and August begins the cycle of coming together for community events based around the Raiders and Indians. Football started Friday night in impressive fashion, with the Raiders winning 47-0 over East Hall in a preseason jamboree.

Enough is enough already

To the editor: Habersham County officials recently decided to raise millage rates in the county and did exactly that. Good for them! (Not really.) Now these same fine folks want to levy an additional penny sales tax on county residents to support road maintenance.
