Find peace in this life

To the editor: This matter I am going to write about is mainly for senior citizens, but it is also available to any age person who wishes to delve into some concerning situations we face in our society today.

Giving their time, energy

Habersham County was at its best Monday when it hosted the Special Olympics for the first time in four years. All the athletes, volunteers and school personnel came together to put on a spectacular event attended by hundreds of locals cheering on their friends and family members.

Gone, but not forgotten

Joe “Little Joe” Collins and Jamie Fenn, I’ll never forget the two of you. Times have changed a lot since the summer of 1991 for the better and the worse. We grew up in a magical time in Southeast Georgia in the 70s and 80s.

Right move at church

To the editor: Regarding the incident at Bethesda Fellowship Church on Easter, Deputy Daniel Spivey, whom I have never met, was making a legal arrest, which he has taken an oath to do. There was a 50-50 chance there would have been a problem in the church.

God gave us grace

To the editor: Ernest Burns, the pastor at Shady Grove Baptist Church, made me cry when I read his latest message about his mom and grace in the Dec. 9 edition of The Northeast Georgian.

Double windfall

To the editor: This would include a tariff and corporate tax rate increase, which in reality would double or triple our revenue for our American government in a very short amount of time. From an economic point of view, our nation would be holding economic cards in their favor.

We don’t need another authority

The great John Mellencamp once said, “I fight authority, and authority always wins.” In the case of local governments, it could be phrased, “We create authorities, and authorities always spend.

Don’t take our trees

To the editor: There is no point asking a question here as there cannot be an intelligent answer. The trees in the Walmart parking lot in Cornelia have all been cut down to the ground. The same trees I would sit under and rest after shopping.

What would you do?

To the editor: My friend what would you do if Jesus come to visit you Would he hinder you from things you do Or would you be glad to see him go   I bet you would let him in alright. You have heard he saves from sin Maybe you would like to wait awhile Before you could invite him in.
