Work this out, earn our trust

With local governments all raising taxes in the last year, we have heard a lot of speeches from local officials about living within our means. We all have to do it at home, they usually say, so why should government not be held to the same standard with our tax dollars? Live within your means.

Grown men do shed tears

Just before dusk Wednesday evening, I jumped on my riding lawn mower to trim the grass ahead of the rain. Pulling around to the front of our house, I could see Heather, William and Fenn being led on a walk by our seventeen-year-old pup, Bella.

Time to write a new chapter

It seems like forever ago, but the truth is it’s not. A mere seven months. Of course, gauging time in part depends on circumstance. Not to mention those circumventing the circumstances. You know, “Time flies when you’re having fun,” etc.

Don’t take our rights

To the editor: To all “gun control proponents” and Demoncrats. So far, all “mass murder” suspects have been stopped – by a gun! According to the FBI statistics, all the mass shooters in the last many years, are known to be, you guessed it, left leaning politically.

THUMBS UP to our Habersham County and municipal fire personnel, who have consistently shown their ability to be on the scene quickly when danger arises.

Band of Blue was tremendous

To the editor: Kudos to Mr. Jacob Weinstein and the members of the Band of Blue for their outstanding Spring Concert on Friday night.

No one will stand up

To the editor: It has been but two days since it happened! Our lovely News Extravaganzas Are now talking about another mass shooting in Texas that happened yesterday. CNN and MSNBC are simply full of it today. (FOX, of course, has not been checked by me, since their last financial horror!
