United Way helps folks every day

In February, the Habersham County United Way let folks know they were the “Heart of the Community.” There is no doubt about the vital importance of the United Way, which partners with 23 agencies in our community. All the funds raised are distributed to those organizations.

Peace can be found near current

As the tips of our Hosta plants break through the rich red clay of Northeast Georgia and see their first sunlight of a new year, I know Spring has already sprung on the river I cherish most that’s 256.7 miles southeast of our front yard flower bed.

Cody Road is a nightmare

To the editor: Cody Road is one of the busiest roads, but someone forgot to update and pave the road. It was a fresh paved road back in 2019, but they started patching the road but guess what? They quit updating the busy road called Cody Road. Please see for yourselves.

Still on the treadmill

On March 23, 2022, we asked all parties involved to “Get off the treadmill” with regards to the development of the old courthouse property in Clarkesville. And we have been asking for the old courthouse to be demolished for the better part of a decade.
